ROBOTICS

Fair Plain East (4th-5th graders) and Arts & Communications Academy (6th graders) participated in the 2019 FIRST Robotics Program. This was the district’s 3rd year competing. Fair Plain East Megabot team advanced to one of the State’s qualifying championships earning the Team Spirit award & ACA’s FIRST team earned the Cores Values Inspiration Award. ACA’s middle school team competed in their FIRST TECH competition.

STUDENT PRESS INITIATIVE (“SPI”)

Benton Harbor Teachers embarked on a classroom-based writing program that will culminate in a student authored publication. The district partnered with New York’s Columbia University’s Teachers College graders.
